Our Trademark Attorneys:
Partner Brett E. Lewis started his legal career clerking for the Hon. David G. Trager, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.  He later worked as an associate in the Intellectual Property and Litigation departments of the New York office of Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts, now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.  Later, Mr. Lewis worked as Associate General Counsel for Register.com, then, the second largest domain name registrar in the world, where he was responsible for managing the company’s trademarks and litigation.

Roberto Ledesma, Esq. is a former Trademark Examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Prior to establishing his own trademark law practice, Mr. Ledesma was an intellectual property law associate at Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman P.C. in New York City, where he assisted businesses ranging from multinational corporations to startups with trademark registration, counseling and enforcement.

Evan Hill-Ries graduated from New York University School of Law in 2008, where he was an Intellectual Property Scholar, co-founded the Information Law Society, and served as an Associate Editor for the NYU Review of Law and Social Change.

Mr. Hill-Ries represents startup and small business clients on a wide range of issues, from corporate formation and equity financings to copyright licensing and domain name litigation. He currently teaches a course on copyright and internet law issues in NYU’s Department of Media, Culture, and Communication.

Prior to joining Lewis & Lin, Mr. Hill-Ries worked on licensing and financing agreements for the City of New York’s NYC Media Group. Prior to that, he represented emerging technology companies in the Silicon Valley office of Orrick, Herrington, and Sutcliffe.
